The cost of quality entertainment has increased significantly since
Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians performed here in 1967.
That initial Gilmore-Hoerner presentation cost $6,500. By contrast, a single performance in Chambersburg today by the Baltimore Symphony would require $75,000. The rising costs for top-rated performers, coupled with the ever-changing return on investments, bring concern about the future.
The directors of the Gilmore-Hoerner Endowment wish to continue its tradition of making events accessible to the entire community by maintaining affordable ticket prices, without invading the fund's principal.
You can help continue the Hoerners' vision by making a bequest or tax-deductible contribution (in the form of cash, check, stocks, securities, real estate, tangible personal property or insurance) to the Gilmore-Hoerner Endowment, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
